A Place to Relax and Discover Wonders of Nature
The Philippines a place where a tourist can enjoy a unique adventure that he has never experienced anywhere else.
Manila
Manila
The capital region of the Philippines and a major hub for business, entertainment, arts and culture Manila’s moniker
the ‘Pearl of the Orient’,– its cantankerous shell reveals its jewel only to those resolute enough to pry. Skyscrapers pierce the hazy sky, mushrooming from the grinding poverty of expansive shantytowns, while gleaming malls foreshadow Manila’s brave new air-conditioned world. The congested roads snarl with traffic, but, like the overworked arteries of a sweating giant, they are what keep this modern metropolis alive. The City of Manila is notable for its cultural attractions like the Spanish colonial buildings in Intramuros and Fort Santiago, and
the World Heritage Site of San Agustin Church
Makati, the region's financial center, is noted for its cosmopolitan culture.Manila is home to the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila, which is the oldest particular church in the country.] Manila is home to three other basilicas besides Manila Cathedral: the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene; the Minor Basilica of St. Lorenzo Ruiz; and the Minor Basilica of San Sebastián. Being the seat of the Spanish colonial government in past centuries, it has been used as the base for numerous Catholic missions both within the Philippines and to Asia beyond.
Cebu
The Philippines' second city. Popular attractions in Cebu include monuments to Ferdinand Magellan's discovery of the Philippines like the Magellan's Cross and Magellan shrine and other Spanish relics like Fort San Pedro,Basilica of Santo Niño and Colon Street, the oldest street in the Philippines. The Sinulog festival in the city is also a major tourist draw.
Cebu City is like an entrée-sized Manila; it’s energetic, exciting and fast-paced, or loud, dirty and ruthless, depending on your perspective. On the surface, it does its worst to attract tourists, with its honking jeepneys spluttering exhaust fumes, shopping-mall culture and lack of world-class sights. While it lacks any amazing attractions, you can have a good time here by focusing on its great clubbing, friendly Cebuanos and rich history before escaping to a more appropriate ‘holiday’ spot.
With its vast seaport, the city is the best-connected hub in the region
Davao City
country's tallest peakThis sprawling city, the culinary, cultural, economic and commercial capital of the south is, for better or worse, becoming more like Manila.Notable destinations in the city are the Philippine EagleCenter, Samal Island, Crocodile Park, and Malagos Garden.
More traffic, more malls, more multinationals, more subdivisions hidden behind security gates. Locals know Davao (dah-bow, and sometimes spelt ‘Dabaw’) has more than enough action to keep them satisfied, and yet it’s only a short drive or boat ride to forested slopes and white-sand beaches, the city is an interesting mix of Muslim, Chinese, tribal and even Japanese influences.
While Davao continues to expand, especially south towards Toril, much of the land outside the city has been turned over to massive plantations growing export quantities of pineapples, bananas and citrus.
Book your hotel in advance since the good hotels sometimes fill up quickly. These will have private bath, cable TV, air conditioning and hot water most of the time.
PrimusTravels can accommodate budget travelers. If you are not on a budget, you can have the very best for a cheap price. The Philippines is the only country in the world that welcomes foreigners from all other countries. It is one of the very few you can enter without a visa.
